No — either one satisfies this requirement, not both. A certificate of qualification issued by a provincial or territorial body is often the more accessible route for candidates without an existing Canadian employer.
FST is one of the three core Express Entry programs with its own eligibility criteria. The trades category draw is a category-based selection lane that can invite eligible candidates — often FST-qualified ones — at CRS scores below general pool cutoffs.
Yes — Red Seal is one route to demonstrating trade qualification, but a provincial/territorial certificate of qualification in an eligible trade also satisfies the requirement.
