Commonwealth Migration Group Inc. ("CMG," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of
individuals who visit this website or engage our services. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information
we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to you. This policy is written to be consistent with
Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Ontario law.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
• Contact details you provide through forms on this site — name, email address, phone number, and country
of residence;
• Information submitted through free tools (e.g., CRS calculator, eligibility checkers) — such as age,
education, language ability, and work experience, used to generate an estimate;
• Information you provide once engaged as a client — including identity documents, immigration history,
employment records, education credentials, family and civil status, and other supporting documentation
required for your application;
• Website usage data collected automatically — such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, typically
via cookies or analytics tools; and
• Communications you send us by email, WhatsApp, phone, or through the website's chat feature.
How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
• Respond to inquiries and provide the free assessment or calculator results you request;
• Assess eligibility and prepare, submit, and manage immigration applications on behalf of retained clients;
• Communicate with you about your file, including with IRCC, ESDC, or other relevant authorities on a
client's behalf;
• Meet our regulatory and legal obligations as a CICC-regulated practice; and
• Improve this website and our services.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell personal information. We may share it only:
• With government authorities (e.g., IRCC, ESDC, CBSA) as required to process an application you have
retained us for;
• With third-party service providers you choose to work with (e.g., certified translators, credential evaluation
agencies, language testing centres, or medical practitioners) — only to the extent necessary and, where
applicable, with your knowledge that you are contracting with them directly;
• With a person you have specifically authorized to communicate with us about your file, per the third-party
authorization terms in your Retainer Agreement; and
• Where required or permitted by law, such as in response to a valid legal or regulatory request.
Electronic Communication
By using this website or engaging our services, you consent to receiving communications electronically and to the
electronic storage of your information. We take reasonable steps to secure electronic communications and storage,
but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and inherent risks (such as interception, delay, or
unauthorized access) exist.
Data Retention
For retained clients, we retain file information, including copies of documents and correspondence, for a
minimum of six (6) years following the completion or termination of your engagement, in accordance with CICC
regulatory requirements. Information submitted only through general website forms or free tools (without
becoming a retained client) is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry, unless you
ask us to delete it sooner.
Cookies and Analytics
This website may use cookies or similar technologies to remember preferences and understand how visitors use
the site. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect some site
functionality.
Your Rights
Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
• Access the personal information we hold about you;
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
• Withdraw consent for us to use your information, subject to legal or contractual restrictions; and
• Ask questions about how your information is handled.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@commonwealthmigration.ca.
Children's Information
This website is not directed at children. Where we collect information about a client's minor dependants as part of
an immigration application, it is collected from the client (the parent or legal guardian) as part of the retained
service, not directly from the child.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements.
The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
